You must set lash in the system or you will bind up the valvetrain & cause severe damage. The valvetrain will also get significantly more noisy. The springs I installed to work with the cam have ~160lbs seat & 370lbs open. This is for a fast-ramped Magnum cam. Slower cam profiles don't need as much spring. But....the stock lifters can take just over 400lbs.
