Driving down the freeway temp starts to climb really quick after its been a steady 160* for a good 5min or more. i have a 160* therme in it car also runs really rich. breather cap was steaming and for some reason all the water gets pushed into the overflow and drains radiator , im thinking the thereme is bad or is locking closed or open i think it has some thing to do with this. please help sick of the with my car ive been through everything you can think of [ August 12, 2003, 10:35 PM: Message edited by: Blue Oval ]

i would take that 160 out and put a 180 in there. simply because with the 160 the fluid doesn't have enough time inside the radiator to actually cool it down since the thermostat is basically open all the time.
you said all the water gets pushed out? errrr should be a mixture of water and coolant. 50/50-70/30(water/coolant). maybe this is your problem.
How old is your radiator cap? maybe its gone bad and its not holding the pressure in.

How many miles do you have on the new set of headgaskets? Steam coming out of the breather is a pretty good sign that the HG's are gone.

Its possible that the water you previously had is burning and thats what the steam is. Change the oil and if it doesnt stop within the next 20-30 miles, i'd say you have a blown HG.

Yes, i'd also look at the water pump. How old is it? Is it turning in the right direction? Just a couple things to look at, but it still sounds like a HG.
