If all you want is a high 12 second car.... the stock bottem end will do just fine. Just toss on your favorite set of aluminum heads and matching intake, along with 1.7 rockers for the stock cam.

The DSS 306 kit is nice: http://www.dssracing.com/3061.htm or pick up that 327 rotating assembly in the for sale section. Pretty good price if you ask me.

*edit* wow that dss kit does look good. Do you know if i would have to do any extra machining to get that kit to work with a stock block? [ August 11, 2003, 05:00 PM: Message edited by: mike g ]

you could do what I did, go look for a good used crank and a set of used rods, and buy the summit 306 rebuild kit. I bought a used shortblock, brought it to Zinolas Machine shop had him do everythin for me, and just ordered a rebuild kit. Ended up spending just under $1000. I have a shortblock for sale if interested. $100.
