help please... looking for someone who has done this. i have a 1991 LX 4 banger with automatic transmssion. i am going to be doing a 302/t5 conversion in a month or so. i have already upgraded the rearend to a 4.10 posi. all the brakes have been upgraded to v8 brakes. i have a complete aeromotive a1000 fuel system. and i am keeping the car fuel injected...so here are my questions....
what kind of harness do i need to get to have the engine comtrol under the hood for a v8 and not a 4 cylinder.. can i just unplug the one harness and plug in the v8 harness.
i already have a A9L computer is this the correct one that i need.??
do i need a harness for the transmission??
will the 4 cylinder engine mounts work??

That computer is fine. Im not sure about the rest of the stuff though.

You need both the dash and engine harnesses. 4cyl and V8 stuff won't interchange. The computer will work. The tranny only needs the reverse light harness, and 4 cyl ones are the same. No, the engine mounts won't work.
If you want everything, I've got it boxed up ready to go here. Interior/computer harness and a set of Poly Mounts. $150 takes it all.

hey if u dont have a motor yet, u know i got one, and its not some little 302 ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
and can have my sway bar when u come to pick up the pedals, NX plate, and headers, i dont want it anymore
oh yeah, got the plate ordered this morning, it will ship monday morning 3-4 business days, so thirsday or friday, but u will be at HAN so maybe monday will work, i will just call u when it come in

The June '02 5.0 and Super Fords has the article on swapping an 8 into a 4-banger, an article on swapping an 8 into a 6, and an article on swapping a 351 for a 302.
The side binder says "TALKING SWAP"

Well first you should take out your old motor. Makes the swap process much easier due to the fact a fox's engine can not accomodate both at the same time. From there i have no idea what else needs to be changed!! Hope this helps

I've got that issue in my bathroom right now... how do you think I knew what the side binder said?? If you want to come to Davis or Fairfield, you can have it.
