I have a built 306 short block with low miles that i picked up from a friend for a really good price. It comes complete with the holley system max 2 kit. The only thing wrong is is that it comes with 81/2:1 pistons. I plan on running a 150 shot on it. I have my thoughts on piston sizes and brands, but I wanted to no what you guys think. Thanks

Whats your question?.....Are you looking to buy new pistons?....I think that 8.5-9:1 is a great compression ratio for a power adder...Dont forget that the Holley Systemax heads come with 64cc combusion chambers and will also affect your compression ratio....

You can run n20 on 8.5:1 but it would make more power with lets say 10.5:1. It's all up to you if it's worth the few extra hp.

IF you are planning on buying new pistons, defineately add more compression, but if you have forged pistons already, then dont sweat it. You can make good power with N2O and lower compression. Instead of 150hp, just add 200. You will be surprised at how that motor will "wake up". Any questions, give me a call. Can give you some good info/tech. Scott 925-998-1517
