My car leaks oil hella bad and I just went to get an oil change on my car and the dude said the leak was from the main seal where the tranny and the engine meet. How do I go about trying to fix this with out taking the engine out of the car or taking the car down to the shop?

Your going to need ramps or jack stands to raise the car and then remove the drive shaft and then tranny then with a drill you can drill a small hole in the seal and thread in a small screw and use that to pul the seal out and then install the new seal. It's a pain on your back but very doable.

Yeah, very common problem on 5.O's. If your clutch is weak, you might as well replace it while replacing your leaking rear main seal. Its probably a good idea to use Fel-Pro's Seal Saver crank sleeve as well if your 5.O has a number of miles on it.
