Hahaha!
I see where this is going.

Alright, I'll bite.
AFR185's (notch the pistons if neccessary)
Edelbrock intake (performer or RPM depending on apllication)
Nice fast-ramped Cam...perferably with plenty of overlap (read not smogable).
Longtubes, 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10 gears, etc, etc..

I like a combo I saw on the corral once, good for 401 rwhp EFI from a 302:
10.9 @ 123 @ 3150#'s

140k mile stock shortblock
ported TFS TW heads
Victor EFI intake
Longtubes
4.56s
42#'ers
Anderson Cam
"no fear" shiftpoints [worship]

my take on a nice 302,

probably the other end of the spectrum is a set of :

GT-40P heads ($300?)
E/B-cam (sometimes $50 used?)
cobra/explorer intake ($250 used?)
has been shown to be worth 280 ish rwhp(as high as 300 on some stock shortblocks/dynos)

lots of good ways to go.

A gt-40 set up with e- cam (if is set up correctly) will go 12.7 or faster in a full wt gt. [burnout]

A local use to run gt-40 irons, e cam, gt-40 intake. It could run 12.2-12.4 on bfg drag radials all day in the 111-112 mph area. With the best mph of 113.5. Then some people with the same setup can have trouble running 13's with basically the same setup.

Nothin wrong with FRPPs. I'm sure you can make a reliable combo using just ford parts that'll fit a good budjet and tickle your fancy.

or you can go all out trick flow

Heads, cam intake rockers. they even make nitrous.
