I need all of your input.
I'm fighting with my conversion to EFI. Car runs great but the scanner won't talk to the EEC also the check engine light stays on. I'm dying to take my baby to the Ref and get it legal, but I'm getting nowhere.
Does anyone know of a talented ford 5.0 guy that could help? I would prefer closer to my home buy I could borrow a trailer, the car is out of registration.
Or should I start over in the wiring? Anyone have a wreck of 89 or later they would sell cheap?
Any input would be great!

jonmccleskey@msn.com I forget Brian's, his screen name here is 'TheBrain', poke around a little, he was all over the 'ford vs. chevy' thread in the drag racing forum, PM him.

Sounds like your tranny neutral sensor is wired to be in gear all the time. The EEC won't spit codes if it thinks the car is in gear.
The check engine light staying on can be a number of things, but generally means an important or SMOG related sensor has completely failed or is unplugged.

Ya know, that tranny sensor could be a culprit. Before i wired the clutch switch I was getting at least some codes. No Only the light on all the time. I'll have to check. thanks st5150

When you get it all done and go to the referee, let us know how it goes. I'm thinking of going with EFI and would like to know how much of a hassle it is to get it certified.
