My best ET ever was on a 3500 launch (and the 60' shows).
I'm aiming for 5500 now.

If your on regular street tires bring the rpm's up to 1k let the clutch out and roll into the gas at the same time. If your on DRs 2800-3000 with a good burnout. If your on ET Streets or Drags then the skys the limit.

I have never been to the track yet but want to give it a try. My car is mostly stock with a little extra compresion ( OMC cobra boat long block) and flows w/ FMS headers and a full M&M suspention set up. I have played around a little on back roads and found when launched at 4000-4500 I get some spin but it hooks and goes much beter than a lower rpm launch. I assume your traction is way better at the track so I should hook even beter right. The car pulls great to about 5300 and shifting at that piont keeps things going through the next few gears real nice.
On a side note what time do you need to show up at the sac raceway and what is involved in getting signed up and tech? [ June 13, 2003, 05:07 PM: Message edited by: rokcrln ]

today or last night i was talking to some guy who has an lx w/a nos kit. by the way, shit nos is off the hook! makes a fat ass difference! anyways i asked him how to launch and he told me hes best bet is at the idle. and told me since i have street tires it would be better not to pass 2rpms...and he told me something about try not to have that much spin on the tires.. you would want all the grip you need.

you're right. Street tires can be pretty lame to try and dragrace on, definitely leave around idle. Some people can make it work (1.70 60's???) but honestly those guys are like 3 levels above anyone you see around here
