going to order my r rims this week what do u guys think on a 99 red cobra (2000 style). what tires do u think i should get because right after this mod of rims its gonna be gears next. Planning on 4:10 though i think it may be a little to steep considering 3:73 but with either gear what tires do u think i should get that'll keep me from squeeling out of the whole and gears? would appreciate any tips thanks.

Go as wide as you can with 18's. Maybe 295's in the back and 265's in the front

Face it, with 18"s you will spin out of the hole. The side wall is shorter and harder so there is even less capability to absorb the shock when you let out the clutch.

Traction is only as good as the tire....If you want good traction I would go with some very soft tires.....The down side is that the tires wear out faster and 18" tires are EXPENSIVE!!!....
The original '00 Cobra R came with BFG KD's(KD's are different to the KDW's)....I think the KD's are pretty soft and still wear pretty well.....
I would go with atleast a 275 in the rear and atleast a 265 up front...I prefer 275 up front and 295 on the rear...

You should go with 295 35 in the back and 265 35 in the front. "BFGOODRICH g-force" That's what I just put on my Roush. So far they seem to work great.

i have the bfg kd's on the cobra, the front tires are wearing ok, not great but ok, it is a great road race tire (what it was desi9gned for), but for traction it just sucks, i would get some good wearing tires in front and some nitto drags in the rear, they make a 305/???/18, that would be about ur best traction for a 18" rim, the bfg's are also about 300 per tire

The KD's are soft and wear out quickly. They do have great dry cornering traction. When mine were worn, they were scary in the rain. Some sizes, like the OEM on the 00R can be hard to find in stock.(265/40/18)
