My old man is running the bassani X pipe on his 92 GT, and my brothers was running the summit offroad H pipe on his 89 GT. But my question is whats better all around, ground clearence, flow, sound, acess to trans what would be best OFFROAD H or X and why?

I changed mine, H pipe had a "meaner" idle sound while the x-pipe is a little higher pitch, but the x is the best for power. If you just want the sound go for a H. But not much difference so I would always say use the X because you get more power.

yup, X pipe has more top end HP, H pipe has more low end torque. Its basically a personal preference, or else ud see one way more than the other

Yeah, If you switched to a regular off road H pipe you wouldve gained HP over the Mac Prochamber..The Prochamber doesnt sound that good either.....
In one of my old 5.0 mags they did a comparo between X and H...The H pipe with Flowmaster dynoed higher peak rwhp that the X pipe with Flowmasters (like 2+rwhp more)....H pipe's are cheaper and are slightly louder than X pipe's..
I vote for an H pipe..Its a great bang for buck...A Bassani off road X is over $100. more dollars...Sorry but 2 rwhp doesnt justify $100 more bucks...Bassani Exhaust is Stainless Steel but having your exhaust rust in California is not really a problem...

I would go with the x-pipe. More horsepower and I think it sounds better.

The H is a bit louder and gives more low end power, I think if you have an automatic you go with an H-pipe. The X will give you more high end power and have slightly less volume on the exhaust note, I would use this on a manual. It's all personal preference, I had the BBK o/r H and couldn't complain it sounded mean as hell and made enough power to satisfy me. Ge the sound you like, just don't get no pro-chamber bullshit, gets striaghts pipes without a box in the middle

Doesn't really matter. Every combo is different and some work better with X's some with H's and some with straight pipes.
