Author Topic: Front brake line (not hose) for 1998 Saleen Chris Tann ¯ Member # 1444 posted                                 Hi all, I discovered that my front brake line (the hard line, not the flexible hose) is damaged, and needs replacing on my 1998 Saleen S281. I gave Ford a call, and the best they could tell me was to take the old one off, and go get a new one fabricated! Does anybody know where I can get pre-bent front brake lines for a '98? They are easy to find for my '68, but the '98 seems way harder - crazy! Call Ford to verify they're the same part(number). Brake line flare tool=$5-10.00 2x brake line ends=$1-2.00 1x brake line tube union=$1.50 Probably cheaper and easier than buying a brake line from Ford... It is a little tricky to figure out the part number, and actually comes as a "tube set", so you get two brake lines for the price of one, but it was only $25, and _much_ preferable to either a repaired or second hand line. So, the bottom line is, don't believe all that the parts department tells you, and when you do find a good parts guy - be nice to him! Regards, Chris.
