My family just picked up a 1998 Ford Expedition.

This one is has the 5.4 Liter(@327 cubic inch) engine.

My mom says that she wants more power for freeway merging and to get better gas mileage.

Im thinking K&N FIPK and a Flowmaster Exhaust System..
are there any other mods I might do so as to give it more power and get good gas mileage in the meanwhile??

thanks
andy

101mm turbo?

j/k, free up the exhaust maybe, electric fan if it doesn't have one...

otherwise a Navigator 5.4L DOHC head/cam swap would be pretty sweet [Big Grin] then do the single turbo.

try going here, www.f150online.com

Here are a list of mods off the top of my head, that people will tell you to do.

- cold Air Intake (FPIK, Iceman, Air Force one...anyone really)
- free exaust (like flowmaster exuast like you said, here is a picture of how you could get true dual exuast onto ur beast.)
 -
----See how he cut right before the y pipe, and made it true dual exuast
EDIT: : Then it goes into an X pipe
- electric fan(s)
- computer chip
- pullies

Those are 5 easy mods to get better gas milage and power. There is also going with an aftermarket TB, but that TB isnt where the restriction is, it is in the elbow after the TB, so its kind of worthless to do so.

Hope this helps (btw I have a 97 F-150, so that is how I know so much)

Josh

We just finished installing a Vortech SQ and custom Aftercooler setup on a '00 Expedition 5.4. Ended up with 365rwhp and 400rwlb.ft. torque! And it drives like a stock truck.
There was a lot of R&D to get the Aftercooler to fit (originally designed for an LT1 Camaro), but it was obviously worth it! I'll post some pictures soon...
