i have a 96 GT automatic. my transmission is stuck in park gear. and my brake lights are inop, ive heard i need to replace my break light switch....is that true- and does anybody know how to go about replacing it? any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

u blew a fuse in the fuse box, i dont remembe the number but it is a fuse, the exact same thing happened to me, it just happens sometimes

fyi, the park lockout is actuated by an electric switch that connects to the brakelight circuit i think, thats why it is stuck in park and the brake lights dont work

a fuse?.......is it really that simple. i thought it may have to do with the tranny.........is it pretty easy to install?
