How hard is it to install underdrive pullies on a 2000gt? Is there a special tool to use?

Yeah, your gonna need a "harmonic balancer puller" as well as the "impact wrench" for the alt pulley....

That crank pulley bolt can be a bitch to get off sometimes too!

Good luck [Smile]

Don't forget to use a torque wrench. When ever you remove the harmonic balancer bolt for any reason, Ford recomends replacing the bolt and using a torgue wrench to tighten the bolt.

5spd car is no problem. 18mm 6pt 1/2" drive socket for the crank pully bolt. it's pretty damn tight. just set the e-brake and put it in first and then crank on it till she comes loose. for auto's you can try the old school breaker and cheater bar combo with a good socket. put the socket on the bolt and brace the cheater / breaker bar under the car. then bump the starter to bust the bolt loose. kinda dangerous. use at your own risk. use a balance puller to get the balancer off. make sure you follow the directions for the install of the balancer. rtv the keyway and use the bolt in the kit to start the blancer going on. then remove it and install the ford bolt (preferably a new one, but I reused mine). torque to the specs on the sheet. water pump is easy 10mm socket. alternator is easy if you have air tools. just pop the alternator nut off with a 24mm (i think) socket on an impact. my overflow was in the way so I just took 5 mins and popped the alternator off and did it on a bench with the impact. noticable improvement on a stock gt. hope this helps. ray.
