Author Topic: too much boost w/o a bypass valve? 91 5.0 ¯ Member # 1527 posted                              How much boost is safe to run without a bypasss valve? Ill be running 9-10 psi. Also, what happends if you dont use one? I'd say you could get away with 5psi without a bypass, but your 9psi will require one. Boost reversion will back up into the mass air meter, causing erratic performance. It will also blow your discharge tube off under deceleration after boost, causing the car to die instantly. Not good! I sell the complete Vortech bypass kit (satin finish) for $199. Just the bypass valve?
