i am thinking of going with a panhard bar....and i was wondering what you guys reccommend? i heard that i will have to go to turndowns..is that true? i would really like to keep my catback...or is it just with certain brands? thanx

Maximum Motorsports makes good panhard bars. Im unsure if you will have to remove/modify your caback or not, or anything else. Whether its griggs or MM, or any other company out there they have specific requirements on what can b einstalled and what tolerances it has to be at. One of the MM reps told me that the MM panhard works with the newer Flowmaster and the dynomax cat backs....
I'm sure that the exhaust mod could be easily fixed at an exhaust shop for less than $60.. [ April 14, 2003, 10:43 AM: Message edited by: Black94 5.0 ]

The only good Panhard Bar is NO Panhard Bar. The panhard bar induces exactly what it is supossed to stop.

First off what is your handling goal of your car?
After installing the panhard bar (when installed correctly), you can take the quad shocks off the rear end. It is designed, however to work in conjuction with a torque arm. This turns the rear suspension into a better handling 3 link setup (no upper control arms). In my opinion, you should save up and get the rear lower control arms (if you don't have them already), torque arm and panhard bar at the same time. When properly installed...trust me....you'll notice a difference.

Go griggs, they have a pan hard to fit different levels, including on that will let you keep your catback. MM PANHARD BARS SUCK! They say that the bar running across can't be bent, I have the bar to prove them wrong. A buddy of mine welded up a new chromoly bar to fix the problem. As soon as I get a little extra cash, that POS is comin off and a griggs piece will be put in it's place to match the rest of the car's suspension. The panhard works with the torque arm. Get both, the car will hook!

...unless you combine it with a torque arm. With this combination, you can remove the upper control arms, the source of the binding in the rear suspension. We're a Griggs dealer/installer, so feel free to give me a call with any questions.
