My friend has BBK long tubes with a shorty H and he needs a new clutch.Do we have to take out the headers?I heard only one side and what would be the easiest way to get it out to do the clutch?

From what I have read over at the Corral, you need to remove the passenger side header in order to pull the tranny out.

I don't know what year your friends car is but on my 94 with the 5.0 I don't have to touch the headers to get the tranny out. In fact I installed them while it was out then put the T5 in afterwards... mine are MAC, I dont see why BBK would be that much different

you shouldnt have to take it all the way out. unbolt it first fro mthe head and the h pipe and see how much play you get. if that doesnt work loosen your motor mounts and jack your motor up little by little till you have enough room.

I have the same bbk long tube headers on my car. You don't have to touch the headers to get the trany out. But you have to loosen one of the headers to get the bell housing off either side doesn't matter. There is not enough room betweenb the headers and the floor tunnel to sneek the bell housing out. If you loosen one header up a little you can get it. [patriot]

On a 5.O there is no need to remove, loosen or touch the headers when removing the tranny or bellhousing. You can rotate and remove the bellhousing at an angle with no problem.

That might have been the case on your car. But there was no room to get my bell housing out.

Yep thats why. You got the 1 3/4 long tubes. I got the 1 5/8 long tubes they don't hang down as low as the 1 3/4.
