Adjusting the clutch will not change "how hard" it is to push in or " how stiff" the pedal feels...The stiffness you feel is actually the pressure plate, which is part of the clutch assembly and is usually non adjustable....
"Adjusting the clutch" is done by making the clutch cable shorter or longer, which only changes where the clutch pedal sits in relationship to the floor..
Having a "hard to push" clutch isnt all bad, it makes sure that the clutch grabs/engages better..

Unless there has been an adjustable clutch cable and quadrant installed in the car there is no way to adjust the clutch.

You can't adjust the stock clutch, but if your talking about the clutch pedal, then you probably just have to pull it up as far as it travel, then press the clutch pedal all the way down. If you hear a click...viola..it is adjusted...

Adjusting the clutch cable will not change the stiffness of the clutch pedal. It only allows for clutch pedal freeplay and engagement. The stock clutch cable is a self-adjusting assembly so unless your car is equipped with an aftermarket adjustable clutch cable, no manual adjustment is possible. However, since your complaint is a stiff clutch pedal, two things that will affect how stiff the clutch pedal is would be the pressure plate's spring pressure and the clutch cable. I would suspect the clutch cable may be the problem. The clutch cable is a steel cable in a teflon lined housing. Sometimes the cable may gouge into the housing or start to unravel within the housing causing the cable to bind and result in a very stiff clutch pedal. A heavy duty clutch assembly with a higher pressure plate spring pressure may cause a firmer clutch pedal but usually not an extremely stiff pedal.
