Yep, That;s me. Sweet ass car man. You need to come to our meets. ANyways, if you use an aftercooler with your vortech, you should be fine for a while. ANytime you you put more stress on the engine, it will wear out faster

It's all in the tuning. Dyno tuning is imperative you install a supercharger, and using the chip that comes with the kit is not a wise thing to do. We install and tune tons of Vortech supercharged street and racing Mustangs (GTs and Cobras), and we're very careful to tune for maximum hp with reliability in mind. We realize that every car is different, so every car needs a different tune. We watch the air/fuel ratio, listen for pinging, and tune accordingly. I have quite a few customers who opentrack their Cobras after we supercharge them, and they've had no problems in tens of thousands of street and track miles. If four 20-minute sessions a day don't blow up the motors, street driving definitely won't. However, this is assuming your motor is in good shape before the supercharging. 57k miles isn't too much for supercharging--you should be just fine. For more info on tuning and superchargers, drop me a line! Thanks!
