what could be causing a rattling sound that I hear when Im in 2nd gear. The tranny shifts great and the ride is smooth in all gears. But there is a rattling sound that seems to be coming from the tailshaft or shifter of the t-5 when Im in 2nd. Is that anything to worry about?

When do you hear the noise? Stopped? Cruising? Wide-open throttle?

Only when I step on the gas in 2nd gear. Not at idle or in any other gears. 2nd does still work. I hope its nothing major.

I usually see that in 3rd gear, but it sounds like your 2nd gear is worn. You can still drive it around, but I'd recommend removing the transmission and having it gone through.
T5s are fairly beefy, but if you drive the car hard, they can only withstand so much.
