I've already got a Hurst Short Shifter installed on my car and I love it. However, I'm tryin to find ways to shorten it even more, and if possible, shortening the throw. I put it in with factory settings so I dont know if its possible to change out either. Does anyone know a VERY short handle that I could replace the Hurst one with? Thanks...Joe

Just becuse its the shortest doesnt mean it has the shortest throw. It depends on the geometry (pivot point) of the shifter base. Ive read that the Steeda Tri-ax has one of the longer shifters for greater comfort, but still has the shortest throw. Thats what I use and I love it. Ive never felt anything better.

I have the Tri-Ax in my Cobra and a buddy of mine has the Pro 5.0 on his. The Pro 5.0 feels a lot shorter and stiffer but my Tri-Ax feels more comfortable and precise. I would go with the Tri-Ax.

Same tranny? Keep in mind that the tranny will be responsible for the stiffnes going into gear, not the the shifter.

go with the pro 5.0. Their normal handle is pretty short but they offer an upgradable "stock length" handle thats just as durable and angled in a way which gives you more quick and precise shifting...

I've heard the mgw shift handle is pretty short and makes a good combo with any shifter base.
