either get a p1sc procharger with intercooler or just get a vortech s trim without aftercooler, either way u really should get custom tunning, the procharegr will be a little more but u get a intercooler, i perrsonally like the procharger, my friend that u bought the subframes form is gonna go with a procharger once he gets enough money

If you remember earlier this week I was posting the same question and was turned to Turboing by 93pony. It is much healthier for the engine and you can run more boost and more power. It's just something to look into. I was so close to going with the procharger and now I'm hooked on turbos. Check out all the options

turbos are great, but they are a little more expensive, and that also means having to put turbo headers on a 4.6, that will not be fun, if u are going to install the charger ur self, save some money, but i dont know if u would want to do the headers on a 4.6 urself, i think it would be a real bitch, i think u have to pull the motor or atleast lift it up a little, any 4.6 guys want to back me up on how hard exhaust is on a 4.6

PseudoCobra- turbo's are not 'healthier' than superchargers, look at all the Mercedes, VW and Ford factory suprcharged engines out there with a ton of miles. I highly recomend you talk to some local turbo and supercharger owners about their experiences, ect before getting "hooked" on anything. There is a difference between cyberspace and reality.

if u do want to go fast on a 97 GT, first thing u should do is get PI heads off of a 99+ GT. That will definately get the airflow going. Then, you should think about forced induction. My vote is for the Procharger as well.

Takes about 14 hrs 2 guys to install long tubes on a dohc cobra...I run the s trim vortech with aftclr and pump 14 lbs boost...For vortech the s/c will be an s trim ,for dohc 4.6 without aftclr the vortech is a sc trim. Also had to go to 8 rib puley system to avoid slippage and jumping belts...I shift at 7400 rpm's.

u do have to lift or pull the motor to install longtubes or even shortys on a 4.6.i have had my motor sitting next to my car for the last month and im only waiting on the lt's to get here.if u get a turbo or a super charger u WILL NEED TO BUILD UR MOTOR TO RUN ANYTHING OVER 6 PSI,these motors r built really shitty from the factory.so before u buy check into what u REALLY want and then also look into how long ur stock motor might last before upgrade it. but then agian this is just myt .02 cents

I think you need to do some more research. Turbo's ARE easier on the motor then SC's & Nitrous.
