Toss some 373's in it and you will be very happy and as long as they are installed correctly you will have no problems down the road

3.73's if you drive on the freeway a lot or 4.10's will really wake up your car

I would be worried about a shit kit, I mean shift kit hurting a tranny more than lower gears becuse a shit kit usually increases shift pressures too much and when that happens, you get those "jerky" or very hard shifts. A tranny will not take that kind of Gorrila treatment for long. If I had an auto tranny, I would go with 4.10's. Depending on what type of tranny you have, Ford racing might have a lower gear set for the gear train inside the tranny and that would be the hot set up.

i thought that a shift kit was supposed to help the tranny, casue when it shifts smooth dosen't it wear down the tranny? kinda like burning the clutch on a manual tranny.

I have 4.10's without any work done to the tranny and it doesn't heat it up at all. by the way I do a ton of freeway drving and still manage 17MPG. Go with the 410's

Shift kits prolong the life of the tranny.
