Car starts fine, but turn it off and the starter runs until I pulled the batt ground cable. Guess it has a ground loop. I am running a Taurus elec. fan and Jacobs FC1000 ignition. ANy ideas?

Very odd! First thing that comes to mind is the ignition switch. It controls power to the EEC and to the starter solenoid. Sounds like there is a "cross" in there that is causing power to the EEC to engage the starter solenoid.... but if removing the FMS Extender from the EEC fixes this problem, then my theory doesn't make much sense.

What have you tried so far?

Well the EEC doesn't control the starter solenoid and isn't connected to it.... and the only place where both the EEC and starter solenoid connections indirectly "meet" is at the ignition switch.

Good luck.

the same thing happened to my car(66 mustang) a while back it would start but starter would stay on it turned out to be the solenoid that connects to the battery.

That is what I suspect. When I went out to start troubleshooting, it wouldn't do it. So, something to do for tomorrow.
