Well there are all sorts of things.....salvaged titles, apparently people think it is a sport to wrap stangs around trees or unmoveable objects. With foxbodies, i have noticed a lot of times people totally forget they have a PCV vavle on the cars, and a lot dont know about the little screen that needs to be cleaned when changing the valve. Syncros tend to be a popular thing to go, especially with the 3rd gear, track lock out...one tire fire wonder, motor mounts sloppy, fan blades crakin or fan clutch out, dirty MAF sensor....anything inparticular u are lookin to look especially at....just like any car, look at it like any car....report your findings back and we'll help ya out with suggestions.

Mangled torque boxes, hacked back yard repairs and upgrades, rear main seal leaks, low oil pressure, burns excessive oil, ect are also common problems.

If the car is untouched and still has the air silencer, chances are much better it was taken care of and still running strong.

i like to add some more if i may.. [Big Grin] ...

the stock shifter handle, the rubber bushing on the base of the shifter goes out which results in
miss shifts. u-joints seem like they have to be replaced every 30,000 miles,a bad lifter(s),
throw out bearing gets thrown out [Big Grin]
brakes wear out fast on these bastard, you might wanna check that out too when you go look at one.
on the gt models, the fog lights tend to burn out or short out rather.alternator doesn't charge right, hatch arms on the hatch backs give out.seat belts don't retrack like they should, air condition
need recharging, heater core, ash tray door is broken arm rest doesn't close locked, horn don't work, power door locks dont work, make sure if you buy a stang you get the gear, motor, trans fluids and oils changed out,and i recommend getting a 3 row radiator [Wink] +inspect the brakes and rotors .a.s.a.p. look under the car to see if
theres any leaks..and yes the factory posi goes south [burnout] i'll let you know if i can think of any other common probs with the poor mans sports car.

pretty much everybody has it covered. If you can't perform basic maintenance (water pump replacement, etc.) you might not be happy with the car if you pick up a 100k+ mile foxbody.

If you want some cheap speed, it pretty much comes down to a foxbody 5 liter or a 1st gen turbo DSM (eclipse, laser, talon). LT1 camaros are a little more expensive and turbo buicks (e.g. T-type) even more so.

course a nova with a warmed over 350 is about as cheap as you can go... [Whoo Whooooo!]
