I have always been fond of black, but the car is white. What do you guys think?

I went ahead and hit all the wires while the motor was pulled, time consuming but overall not that difficult. Here is how I ran them on the driver side, I also ran the started solenoid to the driver side fender, and will be putting the MSD box there as well:)

I say stick with white. Good job on cleaning up and hiding the wires so far. I want to do this on my car someday.

I'd say keep it white. Black would hide all the dirt and all and make the engine compartment look cleaner (especially if there is a lot of chrome engine parts), but you would have to deal the ugly boundary between white front quarter panel and white engine compartment...ugghh!

Cause the paint on the outside is 14 years old. Only real way to duplicate that is get some paint that has been in the sun and elements for ALONG time, lol.
Edit: Ahh, I see what you mean. The border from black to white? [ January 27, 2003, 11:38 AM: Message edited by: boosted89Saleen ]

I know because I had a 69 mach 1 that I first had painted white (everything), then had the engine compartment painted black...I thought...that looks pretty cool...the paint even kind of smells good. Then I took some photos to show off...and then I thought...whoops..that was a mistake..it looked great except for the black engine compartment....
I guess that it really just comes down to personal taste...

I'd say WHITE...anyone can paint their engine bay black, it matches any color..It might take more maintenance but I think the white will pay off..Plus its the original color!!..(Thats my opinion) Are you gonna put those fiberglass covers where the original air box and battery used to be??..Or are you gonna weld each and every hole up and then grind them down, primer then paint??

I'm this far, might as well do it the right way. Weld, grind, fill, sand, primer, paint ACK!

How about light grey?? or a slight metalic, like the cobra upper's paint?? Other options are a medium & light grey flaked spray on lining. Aren't the saleen's graphics grey? That would add contrast to the engine & would be easier to clean. Just a thought. Man, my engine bay is so scratched/thrashed. I think I add all the chrome stuff just as a distraction!
