i just got done changing the intake gaskets and my check engine light came on when i warmed it up and gave it some gas ..(possable fuel related).. i looked over the engine bay and found a wire broken behind the pcv valve on a 89 5.0 (massair) the wire is orange and has a heat protective braded sock or tube sheth covering it..its not the oil sending unit wire..

It didn't break off at the ground huh.....well that sucks. You made me go out to the garage & follow the wire. You're gonna have to pull the upper to re-connect it. Follow the 10-pin connectors to were they meet the fuel injector harness....this is were the orange wire goes into the wire loom. Pull it apart & you should see it there.

I'm willing to put money on the wire being your O2 sensor ground wire. Pull the codes from your EEC. If you get 41 and 91 then I'm right.

Sorry, the post wasn't clear or maybe I didn't understand it.... exactly where does this wire go to? Good thing I didn't plunk down any cash on this
Pulling the codes from the EEC is a fure fire way to narrow down what sensor its related to.

Sweet. I'm glad I could help. You probably want to disconnect your battery for a few seconds and clear the O2 sensor codes in your EEC now.
