currently have 3.73s and a 26x8.5" actual ET Street on a 15x8.5" actual rim (not looking for new rims :/ )

I expect 111-113 traps on motor, and should make plenty of power to 6000 rpms.
This may come up slightly when I go back through and lightly port the heads/intake and mill the heads. Call it a 115 mph ceiling on motor probably.

Also running up to a 175 shot though usually set for 75/100. Expecting to run 120+ mph on N20.

What gear/tire?

I'm thinking 4.30s and 28x10 actual ET drags. Your thoughts?

For max 1320 performance. I already have a reasonable non drag 3.73 turbocoupe rear for when the 1320 bug goes away (assuming it does)

thanks. opinions, rpms, etc. all desired.

The transmission is a tremec-3550, basically the same gear ratios as a T5

with a 28.5" (allowing growth of slick a little)tire, I show the rpms are 5800 ish at 115 mph

And 5600 at 111 mph
6050 is 120
6200 is 123

Do 28" slicks fit under a fox body without tubbing or clearancing? softball bat time or?

Maybe 4.30s aren't enough? 4.56s better?

Does desktop dyno have a good simulation for track performance for gear ratio stuff? I believe I saw in a magazine once a program that showed the ideal gear ratios for various combos, sometimes 'too much' gear is not right, you know not necessarily is redline in 4th gear the best gear for your car...

My 28x9 ET Drags are only considered to be 27" tall (at least that's what it says in the Summit book), but they expand and end up rubbing the bumper cover on the track. You should have more clearance, but I don't know how much. I can try them on my beater if you want to know about them.

I like the "over" gearing idea. Who cares if you run out of RPM's before the quarter mile ends. You're not accelerating much after the 1/8th mile anways. Cut ET from the first 330 feet as much as you can and everything else will fall into place.

shade tree, go with 28x14.50 hoosiers and 3.89s, they work well for me. Oh you don't street race, never mind. [Frown]
