Also my rpm's go up and down when i turn my car on, this is from the new mac cold air kit, and 80mm c&l MAF huh? help me out guys. or is it just time for that 30k mile service. thankx

my first guess would be to swap your MAF back to stock and see what happens.

If your car is surging at idle the MAF probably is not calibrated correctly to match your car. I agree with shade-tree, try the stock MAF and see what happens. If the car idles fine with the stock MAF back in it and the check engine light is still on, disconnect the battery ground cable for 10 to 15 minutes, this will usually clears the codes. If the light remains on after you do this you may have other problems [ January 09, 2003, 05:58 PM: Message edited by: v8toyota ]

Are you unplugging the battery when you are switching the MAF's?
The new MAF is worth maybe 2 hp. WHy did you buy it?
I would return it and buy some bullies and a good exhaust system.

Yea some good bullies will sure scare that engine right up to spunk!
You don't have to return it, just have it calibrated. [ January 09, 2003, 09:28 PM: Message edited by: 87 Saleen ]

87saleen, Your worng homie. A C+L 80 mm will work fine with his car. You use the factory flange tube. That kit is a joke, worth 2 hp. Pullies and exhaust are the way to go.
