Guys, I left my 93 5.0 outside overnight for the 1st time since I've owned it... I start it today notice that the stock voltmeter reads on the last notch and the battery warning light is on, on the gauge cluster...
I drive the car for a few minutes, and park it in my driveway. I hooked up an analog voltmere to it and it read 13volts... I then turned on the car, turned on the headlights, turned on the radio to give it a load, and it read 12 volts...
The lights look to be on very strong, the rado works fine, but the windows roll up and down VERY slowly... But then the car starts up really easily... So I am getting mixed signals here. My other car's battery reads 13.5 volts at rest...
Any ideas here guys? Thanks Luke

I had a similar problem and it ended up being the alternator. I think you are supposed to read 14 volts when the car is running. Let me ask you this....Does the battery indicator stay on when you drive it?

how old is the battery? Could be the cold weather drained it a bit, or killed a cell in it.
Check your alternator and if you have a "spare" battery swap it to see what happens. I had a post die on my battery that would make you have sworn it was the alternator that was bad.

Check this out....when that happened to me, I went and bought a new battery. It was cool for about 2 weeks, and BAM car wouldn't start one day. Took the battery back and got another new one. Started driving and the stock voltmeter was going nuts...up and down 11V-14V...when RPM's were high so was the meter. 2 days later dead battery. Decided to change my alternator....went to the handy dandy junk yard and replaced it $15....2 weeks later dead battery. changed the alternator again and now it's running cool, but my stock voltmeter still goes up and down. Usually when you roll up your windows and keep the buttons pressed that meter doesn't even move, well mine goes all the way down to like 10V. I probably have a wiring issue but it all started just like Luke87GT. My point? don't have one. haha still trying to get that $hit fixed.
