The tremec that comes in the new GT's is a nice step up, but if "bang for the buck" is of concern... see if you're still covered by Ford's drivetrain warrenty

I am not really lookin so much for something cheap but more for something that is really good and dependable. It can be pricy as long as its worth it... i just dont want to spend alot of money on something that isnt worth the money...you know
Thanks guys! [ December 24, 2002, 11:57 AM: Message edited by: SwayracingSVT ]

Viper spec T56 seems to really handle some power. Treynor's ~850 rwhp Viper has survived so far on his Dodge issued OEM T-56.
The tremec 3550 is for fox cars, the 3650 for SN-95.

You can get an aluminum bellhousing now to put a 3550/TKO in a Modular car. This isn't a major job, but a few things need to be addressed. The driveshaft needs to be 1" longer, for either one, with a 3550, you'll need a new output yoke, with a TKO you'll need a new clutch disc. The tranny mount bracket also needs to be moved about 6" forward, which is monir cutting and welding. D&D usually has the best prices on complete packages. http://www.ddperformance.com/driveline.htm
