Has anyone heard of this Royal Purple stuff?
I was watching Speedvision or one of those car shows about 2 sundays ago and they where having a section on this royal purple oil. What they did was interchanged the oil in an SS with this royal purple synthetic motor oil and it dynoed at 16 HP more! It aslo showed to increase gas mileage... here is the link incase this helps http://www.performancess.com/royal.html
I went ahead and ordered a case just for the hell of it and was wondering if anyone else has used it or heard of it or has any thoughts at all??? Just wondering if it was or not! [ December 15, 2002, 07:55 AM: Message edited by: SwayracingSVT ]

The shit actually does work. I am not sure if u can get about 16rwhp from it. But the reason why is gives one more hp, is becuase it is able to flow so much more easily then any other oil. You will feel some gain, because it is able to flow through engine so much easier, but 16rwhp might be a bt much!

Thanks for the input, i did think a gain of 16 hp was a bit much! But if you guys liked it then maybe i didnt waste my 70 bucks for a case, we'll see... Thanks

remember u must use the same oil in the future...expensive but the best stuff out there...other then(i believe its AMS OIL) AMS oil, royal purple is the best u can buy...i USE PENNZOIL synthetic 5/30 ....as for the HP gains ...i dont know about that....but ur engine will run much smoother...its synthetic...so it runs cooler and u dont have to worry bout warming the car up to long before driving it...good luck. MM&FF have always seen more hp when the switch to synthetic was made. if i remember correctly it was in the 3-5hp range.

The 3-5 hp gain sounds a little more reasonable...that is what i figured. But arent you supposed to believe everything you hear on TV? Anyways its sounds like its a good motor oil despite the high HP gain. [ December 17, 2002, 11:01 AM: Message edited by: SwayracingSVT ]
