I just put in some 42 lb injectors w/ prom calibrated meter in a car that doesn't have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. It also does not have an FMU. It idles OK with a vacumm of around 18. When you give it gas with a load on the engine it sputters and floods after about 5 seconds. I've got a aeromotive adj fuel pressure regulator and a FP guage I'm gonna put on. Does this sound like it might solve my problem? thanks

What is the rest of the combo? A custom chip is almost a must for good drivability with most 42 and 50 lbs injector combos.

Novi 2000, stock 5.0 block/heads. It's getting a custom chip/dyno very soon. I just need to be able to get it there

it sounds like you dont have enough fuel pressure for what you got on it and I would not floor it if I was you couse with out a tune it will blow the head gaskets even worse you can blow you motor
I would add a walborrow 255 inline fuel pump and add the fuel pressure reugaltor also I really suggest you get it tuned so that it will run the best and no kaboom
hope this helps

Forgot to add its got a AFM powerpipe, 255 lph intank pump, 44psi w/vacuum off. It seems to have trouble when the rpm's go below 1000. I thought I would try rotating the Pro-m. I'm hoping that the chip will fix this! Thanks for the help. It's supposed to be dynoed today.

Yeah i was just out swinging a tight one. Got a bad spark plug wire or something still. Breaks em loose in the first 3 gears. I think the owner will be happy.

Not bad. With out an FMU, an inline pump won't aid you much.... not to mention the 255 is plenty for your setup.
So did the chip fix your drivability problems? When you say stock 114K miles, are you talking 100% stock exhaust, 192^ thermostat, ect?

the motor has 144,000 on the clock. I think the car has headers, Bassani x, and flows. The motor is stock.
