When comparing the Holley Systemax, Edelbrock Performer Package, and if you were to throw together something for Trickflow of similar comparison to the Holley and Edelbrock packages. Performance (Hp gains) wise which one is a better value. I am talking heads, cam, intake, TB. Anyone who has used one of the following packages or put together something from trickflow let me know how you liked or if you wished you would of gone with something different.
This would be thrown on a stock shortblock that has been cleaned up.
Thanks

Out of the options listed, with out a doubt the TFS package will make the most power. The Holley heads are poor quality and the Edelbrock performers won't make as much HP as the TFS's.

I've done a bit of research over the last month trying to select parts for my car and my results pretty much match what has been said:
edelbrock: good quality parts but not the greatest performance results
tfs- great performance and the heads can supposedly "grow" with you
holly- overpriced junk heads, good intake
Thats just the info I've come across many many times over the last month or so. Take it with a grain of salt

you need AFR 185's, a piston cutting tool, an Ed Curtis cam (no exceptions), an an edelbrock performer RPM intake. Mill the heads to 55cc, install it in a full weight '93 cobra with the A/C on and run mid 11's at 119 mph full weight with the passenger side visor ajar.

Keep in mind while the H/I/C you go with is extremely important... its not the complete picture.... sure the heads have to match the intake that has to match the cam, but the top half of the motor needs to match the big picture... your goals for the _whole_ car itself. This will dictate what gears you run, the exhaust setup, suspension, weight of the car, streetability, ect. All these "little" things are just as important. I've beat or ran comprable ET's and MPH to some heads/intake/cam 5.O's at the track before... why? They didn't look at the complete picture when modding their cars... no pullies, not enough attention paid to the tune, stock gears, excessive weight, not enough tire, ect all came back to haunt them. Too bad my motor let loose (busted exhaust valve that holed a piston) because I believe it would be fully capable of reaching those #'s. To prove it's not internet BS, but here locally. I have no details to hide. I've always been up front about the setup. All I needed was to get it fine tuned, and put the setup in a hard top car. It'll happen, just might take me longer.

TFS heads are quite good compared to the Holley & Edlebrock heads. AFR's top all of these street heads. No bull. Those 'internet combos' exist. If you want to run 115+MPH in the quarter on a 3200lb car + pass smog, AFR's, ported E-bock intake & a custom cam are the way to go. If you want to run 110, get the TFS heads, holley intake, & a TFS stage 1 cam.

Yeah, it wasn't directed at you at all. Everyone knows the logo on the box doesn't make a difference... motors with comprable runner volumes with comprable flow numbers with comrable cams and intakes on bottem ends with comrable displacements will make comprable power regardless of the brand on the box or the badge on the car being GM, FORD, DODGE, ect
Coke vs Pepsi, little bit of sugar and carbonation difference, but still pretty much the damn same thing.... yet some Pepsi drinkers insist Coke drinkers are drinking urine

Don't forget with the trickflows you're going to have to get new rockers and pushrods. You should change those with any hi-performance combo anyway. Also, some cams won't work with the tickflows because of the valve position. You may have to have you pistons cut or buy trickflow pistons. Any aftermarket head is better than stock though. It all depends on what you want to do with the car and how fast you want to go.
