What's the deal with an elctric exhaust cutout. Will it make the car much louder than it already is? Does it give any more power? Can I have it open and close with the push of a button? Is it worth it? Thanks for your input Ryan

The purpose of electric cutouts is so you can control(with a switch) whether they are open or closed, rather than getting down under the car and uncapping them. Yes, your car will be louder. As for power increase, not much...cutouts are made for racing(high rpms), so don't expect a power gain down low.

My friend with a 97' Cobra says it works really well and hasn't had any problems. All you do is push a button and the valve opens. Check out the video on stangnet. Copy this exact address. Let me know if the address works too. Personally I would get it if I didn't have the off road x-pipe.

You are looking at about $175.00. If you do get it go with the 2 1/2." It won't give you much power, but it won't kill your torque. BTW, isn't your car loud enough already with the off road h-pipe? [ December 02, 2002, 10:54 PM: Message edited by: 00silver-gt ]

yeah I wouldn't normally think about them but i'm thinking about selling my 100 shot but i don't want to have two switches in the dash for no reason. I was think the cutouts could get rid of one and then some underchasis lights would get rid of the other. Then when I'm ready for a safe NOSzle kit I'll get the ashtray switch plate and a shift ball with the nitrous button on it. Just some shit I've been thinking about.
