The thing is with the cobra, is that I'm having a hard time finding a quality cobra with 50K miles or less. I looked at 2 so far at a dealership, the 97's motor blew when shifting to second on out test drive and the 96 was overheating and ticking. I want faster, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the reliability. So what is your guys advice?????<br /><br />What mods can I do to the GT to get it into the low to mid 13's???? I thought those cars were comparable, but there not. If you want to run 12's N/A, I would go with the cobra. You can do it with gears, drag radials, pulleys, and some tunning. A 99 or newer gt will take a little more.<br />I persoanlly like the newer bodystyle, but iof that does not bother you get the cobra. Also look into the insurance aspect. They look a lot better with the hood and the smoked headlamps. You can make it sound just like the older ones and not so high pitched like the new GTs, just add Mac mufflers and 3" tips. That should get you there. I ran a 14.1 without the gears and headers, but that was at 99.7. I should be at 13.8 or 13.9 with 99.7MPH. If you really want a cobra, it WILL take u a while to find one that is perfect for you. I looked for one for 3 months and gave up. All of them had a big flaw.
