Well my rear end was leaking and I took it in the Rear End Specialist in Santa Clara, turns out my gears need to be replaced. Apperently (I'm a girl so I'll put this in my terms) there was no oil and the gears broke/snaped/what not. I have to replace the gasket, too. (hopefully I spelled it righ) LOL. I had 4.10's now I'm not sure which ones to go with now. 3.73's or 4.10's I don't race a lot so 4.30's are out of question. I heard 3.73 were good on the freeway. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys

The usual question would be to ask you how often you drive on the freeway, and how fast do you usually drive? Everybody that has had 4.10's seems to be happy with them, and they don't seem to be a problem. If you already had 4.10's, then you probably wouldn't notice 3.73's, it would feel pretty much stock. You might as well stay with 4.10's.

No problem. How did you like the 4.10's by the way? I don't really want a drag car, more of a road course car, so I will probably stay away from 4.10's. What kind of typical tank mileage did you get? Hit me up on AIM if you want.

I thought my RPM was kinda high I would not know the difference between the 4.10's RPM and 3.73's RPM because I bought the car with the 4.10's. But Javier (99-UJSTLST) told me that the RPM should be in the 2500-3000 range going 85+. It launches pretty good though. I'll AIM you then. Thanks for the advice. Would you know how much it would cost me if I was buying the Gears and Gasket my self because they want to charge me over $600.00 and I think that's kinda high, but I've never had this problem so I don't really know how much they usually charge. From what I remember, gear installs were usually around 400, probably a bit more than that. I think that's for just the straight swap and price of gears. I don't know if it would be different because you had damage to your previous rear.

Actually with 4.10s you should be just a little over 3100. With 3.55s your around 2700.

I would suggest 373's as the lowest gear to go with. .02

i would go with the 390's......i have 410's and they are a bitch on the freeway so you could have the better of both worlds and go with the 390's

You can't hit 140mph with 4.10's weve tried in a 98 cobra didnt work.

well, if you didnt like the 4.10s cause they revved too high, then step down a little bit, maybe 3.73s or 3.90s. I'm still debating too
