I don't know how serious you plan on getting with your car, but remember that stock AOD's don't like lot's of power or drag racing. I went thru 2 before that dawned on me!
I now run a Lentech and the thing is INCREDIBLE!!! It cost $2100 w/ 10" converter & includes shipping. It really is one of the best mods u can make. VERY reliable & the BEST customer svc. you could ever wish for. Good luck with your re-build, but now may be the time to look at a better tranny. Just my opinion

Dont rebuild that tranny just get a new one. If you want to take it to a great tranny shop try golden gate transmission off Old santa rita road in pleasanton. They do great work.

Excessive heat from too may miles. AOD's are known to start having problems around 110,000 miles.

well if you fryed 3 and 4th its probably your tv cable adjustment. you have to do it right or you'll lose 3rd and 4th aod's usually only lose 4th, all of mine have, time for that wide ratio kit with the bigger overdrive band
