Theres actually a few guys runnin 2.3 turbo motors here... theyd know more about the 2.3 install into the stangs. Ive had a few 2.3's in other things, and its actually fairly cheap to work with. Get the complete motor/harness from an 88 turbo coupe, and slam it in... you could probably find the complete setup for like $200-400 from a wrecking yard. Can make some good power numbers from the 2.3, with only a little bit of work. I had an old Merkur (2.3), was pushin 207rwhp,240tq,with only a little extra boost,3" exhaust, air filter, and an intercooler. You can get alot more than that, just takes a few more little things. i think the exhaust is the only thing youd have to buy other than the motor/harness itself, to mnake the whole swap work.

I have that swap currently in my car, its pretty damm easy and you can easly have those engines make some pretty impresive numbers,
For learning how to do a swap, check out the links page on my website and it you want theres also pictures of my 2.3turbo in there.
my web address is on the bottom.
Good luck on it and I definetly recomend it.
