I need to buy a new set of tires and need to know what SIZE is good for the street /strip. i have 16 inch pony's. ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif)

225/55/16 is stock.
245/50/16 is wider & the same total diameter so the speedo will not be affected.
I've always liked the way my 245/45/16's looked.
245 should fit all the way around on a 91-93. The fronts will rub on pre 91 cars.

Then you're going to want a slightly smaller tire (height wise).
stock height is: 25.75 inches tall (roughly)
245/45's are 24.7 inches tall
245/50's are 25.65 inches tall
The taller/wider the tire, the heavier, which will also affect performance.
You could go with a 225/50/16, although I don't like the look of that size...doesn't fill the rim very well.

I think my tires look hella sick on my car. Rear is 255/50/16 and the fronts are 245/45/16. I am using the A032R's from Yokohama, they grip hella good...and give the car a great look.

why wont 245's not rub on a 91-93 but on a 90 it will, they have they same body style. I have a 85 SVO with 95 GT pony rims that are 16x7.5, i have 245/45's on it and the car has been lowered and i had no rubbing problem in the front.

Cause in 91 when the 'pony' rims came out, Ford opened up the fender wells just a bit.
SVO's were designed to work with 16 inch rims also....that's why they don't rub.
