The car will die only when the ac or heater is on while coming to a stop? At night the headlights are a little dim at a stop and when I rev a little they will light up more. Could this be a week altenator? Are there "beefier" altenators I can buy to stop this?

what year car is it couse I now older 5.0 cars have that problem when you change pullies

it sounds like the alternator is spining to slow
I see you have put pullies on your car that could be the start of the problem

you could put back the stock alternator pully that should help, or you an buy a more power full alternator

Sorry should have provided better info. 89 lx 5.0 I don't even have the old pullies and would rather go for a more powerful alt. How will I know what type of altenator to get?? I thought they were made for specific models

i heard you can use the 94-95 alternators which are 130amp but you need to do some mods. i have a 160amp but its only at high RPM and kinda sucks for me cause i need one for low rpm.

on your amp meter on your dash, does it register a charge similar to what it did before you changed the pulleys. changing one pulley, ie the one on the alternator, is not the way to go. get a bigger 130 amp alternator -doesnt matter what its out of as long as it fits or make it fit. an alternator is an alternator -all it does is charge, so re-wiring should not be that challenging

sounds like your idle is too low to me. try cleaning the IAB valve or turning the set screw on it counter-clockwise

Thanks for the info. I found a new Ford alternator 100 amp for $105 one year warrenty. Regarding the pullies...they were on the car when I bought it there is also an electric fan with adj. thermostat. It wouldn't die when coming to a stop UNTIL I put on the 76mm MAF and used the heater or ac. So we'll see what happends with the 100 amp.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that out last night. Put the stock shit back on and drove around a while and was fine. Then turned on the heater full blast came to a stop....died. Tried the same thing with ac on...died. I wonder if maybe even the electric fan is set to come on to often thus causing the alternator to have a hard time keeping up with the power supply needed.
