That's not drive shaft play, thats play in your differential. Posts: 2373 | Registered: Jun 2000  |  : street_illegal_stang ¯ Member # 1554 posted                              89 gt 5 spd stock 3:08 gears. no shit, i know i need a new tranny... i guess you missed the part about me working at jiffy lube.$$$ money is tight $7buck an hour st5150: you suppose im missing a tooth on my ring gear? bearings? i just change the gear oil before this happend.. i didn't have to pull the cover off the diff.. i just sucked the crap out from the fill plug.. today and yesterday i drove 150 miles and it stoped? damm ford,lol. thanks for your help everybody,st 5150. -Justin r Posts: 1276 | From: Long Beach C.A | Registered: Jul 2002  |  : street_illegal_stang ¯ Member # 1554 posted                              whooopppss! i missed my whole god dam point the gear oil i pulled out appeared to be really old,and black with very fine silverish tone to it. i'm sure it never has been changed since when i pulled the plug off it hissed at me. 125k miles. i'm the second owner.do you know if theres a breather valve on the rear somewhere,cause if there is i suppose its clogged. my shit burns oil like a quart every 500 miles no smoke though?..what do i care synthetic oil is free for me i change my oil every 1500 miles i use 10w30..you think i should step up to 15w50?
