just wondering if my mustang will pass smog with the check engine light on.. it's on because of bassani x-pipe's if that makes a difference..

not legally but some people will overlook it. Buy some MIL eliminators to turn offf the check engine light. If you dont have any cats you may have to put the stock piipe back on unless u know somebody or... just ask around

I just passed smog after 3 rigorous weekends of pointless BS.
in my opinion, unless you have a "hook up" you don't stand a chance in the world of passing with a 'check engine' light. It's part of the visual inspection. a smog tech could tell you more. but you're dreaming if you think they "won't notice". maybe I'm just not lucky, but at least around here (Fremont) anyone with a mustang gets the run-around.

clear your pcm right before your smog by disconnecting the battery and your check engine light should stay off long enough for the smog because it hasn't had time to run the cat moniters.
