Has anyone used this kit? Reccomend it? Worth the money? I am contiplating on puchasing this kit for my project stallion. It sells for $1,479.95 Anyone bought it or have good things to say about it?

well the rods look good and strong but is that a stock crank shaft what type of berings are they useing and does it come balanced also what type of pistons are thouse

sound like a good set up ass far as internals goes
what type of compression are the pistons
I now you was talking about goin NA so just wondering what compresion piston you will go with I say 10:1 with some 185 afrs ported and a custome cam should get you 400+rwhp

It doesn't say what the compression is, but 10:1 is what i'm shooting for. cnc perted afr 185 heads as well. You wouldn't recommend this crank?

that crank should be cool enouugh for the around 600+ hp

it looks cool to me but dont you think you can get a better deal if you buy the whole long block assembled with heads and intake
then if you buy it peice bye piece

well their are many places and of course it depends where you go but I say 5000-7000
you would have to research more on that like check out and call the places in the 5.0 mag

whoa, I just dug through my whole stack of MM&FF to find the article they did on the Summit 347 kit. Ofcourse it was the last one I looked through! Anyways, the compression checks in at 10to1 with stock heads so I assume it will probably be lower with the AFR's. I'm not real good with this computer thing or I would scan the article and send it to you, but if you PM me with your address I will make some copies and send them to you. The article shows a complete budget build up of a 347 stroker using the kit you are talikng about. It is pretty thorough article with good detailed instructions.

Central Coast Mustang ads their long block, 327 or 342, for $4295. These come with AFR's (185cc) and they use new blocks. To my knowledge, Central Coast mainly does assembly, they are not going to get heavy into checking tolerances or prepping/machining surfaces.
The places that do that are going to charge about $1000+ more. For a good example of what your money gives you, check out Coast High Performance, or Panhandle Performance.
If you don't plan on a power adder, the CCM lomgblock sounds pretty stout, and it's here in California.

The eagle kit's seem to work well. That's the kit Camara90 has. His block recieved all the proper treatment and the total shortblock with assembly was around 3k. The pistons are SRP with -5 cc valve reliefs (good size reliefs) and will give an 11:1 compression ratio with 56cc heads, assuming zero deck and standard head gasket (believe it's either .039 or .041). Fordmuscle.com has a good compression calculator. Don't be afraid of the compression, Mike's car runs well on 91 octane gas. With proper top end hardware you can make 400+ RWHP easy. Even a simple setup can produce 350 and be a lot of fun to drive. I'm not sure about the summit kit since I don't know anyone with it. I seen a CCM (Central Coast Mustang) 342 run tonight and it ran strong. Basic components, 185 AFR, Comp Cam xe 274, Edelbrock RPM, longtubes, cat H pipe, 10.5 ish compression. The car ran strong at 12.39 at 113.91 on regular radials with a 1.93 60'.
