I change mine once a year regardless of mileage. I use only Motorcraft, or Wix/Napa.

go ahead and buy a knN filter but also buy a fram one...only like 5-7$ so you can prove this guy wrong..i listen to that kind of b.s allday at work..
i've tried using a KnN fuel filter and its not much more differt than any store bought filter..
in otherwords its not worth the overcharged price.
also knN oil filters are not worth the extra money
there air filters are cool but are way overpriced.
whatever man if you just wanna replace the old with a new get a fram .
if your pushing 300+ hp go with a aeromotive filter..otherwise spend the extra money on something you can use.

I think Ford recomends something like 30K miles for a fuel filter change. I use some German brand filter from Autozone because its almost half the price of the FRAM ones that Kragens sells.

So you think they have better quality control on the fuel filter line?
HA! It's the filter media itself that's called to question. Fram uses paper/cardboard, not cotton like K&N. Some other brands even use synthetic media to trap particles down to 5 microns. Aside from that, Fram products are notorious for having poor sealing thus bypassing the filter element & sending dirty fluid through your motor.

Eh...To each his own.

KnN doesn't use cotton on all there products
there oil filters are made of paper and only trap out 20 microns..all oil filters have a bypass
there suppost to so there always oil flowing when the filter has no purpose because it gets full of shit..again we where talking about fuel filters
knN cool because you can take them apart and clean
them..they don't use cotton in there fuel filters
they use little metal filter disk that trap (10-20)mircons out...fram fuel filters are good for 12,000 miles filters 10 microns.best bang for the buck... if you want to spend 65$ on a fuel filter
that you have to clean every 5k miles by a KnN..
i love there air filters but jesus christ they over charge! like if cotton is hard to find or something [Big Grin]

Cut open a $5 Fram fuel filter & you'll see were they skimp on quality.
The filter itself must have a good seal with the case. If it's sitting off, or they use carboard as the seal (as Fram does) instead of a rubber 'O' ring, then the filter isn't going to do much.
