Has anyone attempted to smog there stang with a catted x pipe with 2 cats . Considering that the factory H pipe has 4 on the 01 GT? It seems like you would fail the visual inspection???

From what I've heard, yes you will fail visual, but you should be able to pass the actual smog test. So its up to you on whether you want the catted one versus the off road one. Good luck.

You can pass the actual sniffer test with a high flow aftermarket pipe its just that you will fail visual because it has to have the same number of cats as it did when it came off the dealer lot.
Most places do not care about visual as long as you pass the test thats all most of them care.
If I were you I would buy an off road pipe and keep the one you have on there for smog. So when it comes time to smog throw the stock one on and you wont have any problems.

Yes becasue you are going with a cutout after the cats all you are doing is taking the muffle away your not decreasing restriction, well maybe a lil with the mufflers but not a lot. You need to get a off road pipe you will feel the differnce.

You will not fail the visual as long as your car has converters (speaking from my own experience). See for yourself, my 98GT had 6 converters from the factory, 99+ for some reasons have 4. Do you really think that operator knows how many of them you should have.
