The 160* t-stat will make your car run in open loop longer and make the car run rich. There for losing HP. Go 180 [patriot]

Yeah I would say go with whatever is stock, since the computer is designed for that. If you use a lower temp thermostat, then your car will have trouble warming up to the proper running temperature. Some chips are supposed to be used with higher temperature thermostats.
