I'm planning on getting a 94 cobra motor and just working on it but I would like to know the specs on the motor before buying one and how much one would cost me. I already read in another thread that it will fit into earlier stangs around 88's or so. I'm rolling in a 88 gt stang now and I want to do a reasonable swap and I thought the cobra motor was a good idea. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

they only have ~ 250 flywheel HP stock, for the money you can do MUCH better, plus the intake is different than the one for an '87-'93 and the EGR stuff is wacked too.
I got a good deal on a used setup so that's the way I want. If you have a solid shortblock, I'd heads/cam/intake it and be happy
If your shortblock is toast, there is nothing *special* about the cobra shortblocks.
Any old HO shortblock should do. $75 in junkyards, you could get lucky

Coo coo once again your advice helps, I appreciate it, How much do you think that would cost me for the heads, the intake and cams would cost me and what brand should I go with? And how much am I looking at spending on that kind of stuff? And how much more horse power will it add to the wheels? Oh and there's nothing wrong with my stock motor at all it runs perfect, I use to go through altenators but got the problem fixed. It was some male function with a wire. now there's a topic with lots of opinions.
conventional wisdow around here says AFR 165 heads, custom cam, and a performer RPM intake will get the job done, but the TFS TW heads, TFS stage 1 cam, and TFS track heat intake seem to produce 300 rwhp on a stock shortblock with normal accessories and exhaust.
I think the first combo is about $2k, and the second would be about $1500.
Guy hear has 340 rwhp or so rwhp on a setup like the first, but it's also on a 306 rebuild. Either way would be great, 300+ rwhp compared to the stock 5 liters 200 rwhp makes a world of difference. Basically a full-time 100 shot of N20

The 94/95 cobra motors came w/ a 60mm t.body instead of a 65 like in '93.
For whatever reason, ford did that...but, my '93 ran 101mph, almost 102, stock.
I know for a fact that it made more than 250 flywheel, MPH don't lie.
