My 94 GT is running hotter than normal. All fluids and radiator are fine. I checked under the car and I noticed that the passenger side of my MAC 2-1/2" H-pipe with cats gets hotter faster than the driver's side,at a faster rate and higher temperature.I noticed the smell of the HTS coating burning off the pipe and it hadn't done that since the days after I first installed the pipe 8 months ago. So it definitely is hotter than normal. There is also a weird harmonic tone coming out from the exhaust, not my normal exhaust tone.My car runs like crap. Could this be a bad catalytic convertor, bad timing, the car's computer acting up,or something else?

i am not sure what is up with your car, but one of the main signs of a bad cat is rattling. it will sound like one of the metal pieces around the cat has broken a weld. you might want to check your o2.

I removed the H-pipe and shook it.No rattles.I replaced the O2 sensors about a year ago/19,000 miles ago and they still look fine. This all started a few days after installing a CL 73mm MAF but it might not be that? It ran good for 4 days and then all of the sudden the needle on the stock temperature gauge started going 3/4th of the way,it usully sat halfway on the gauge. Are there adjustments that need to be done after installing bigger MAF's?

well i would look at the mass air. i know that the connecters get dirty. i have also heard that if you twist the mass air to one side or the other your car wont run right. try this, disconect the neg bat cable, and step on the brake, this will reset your comp. then hook it back up, and go drive around for a bit. see if the comp reads the new maf better.

YES! It works now.I cleaned the connectors and the little wires inside the sampling tube with some alcohol and Q-tips and it's all good now. Thanks for the help.
